Anyone know where I can get 400 1280x960 pics hosted ?
If you have never been to this show you absolutely must go.
Many people that have no online presence were there.
Places that don't post photo's of their stock, or post adds here were there too.
This show was HUGE.
Saturday was so packed you couldn't move in there.
The line started before 10am and it was freakin hot as hell outside.
There were about 150 people waiting outside at any given time right up till about noon.
There were so many vendors that they were in every isle out side the showroom floor, all the way out to every exit door in the building.
There were even vendors setup on the concorses going into the isles to the main arena !
What made me very happy was the first table, Selective Origins, and the first diplay was a bunch of SUPER sweet BCC's at killer prices. Some awesome bats, not dotty, some blotches. Very pretty animals priced at 200-300, they still have these as I saw them at the last day too. They did sell that super sweet Guyana though
Gus from Rio Bravo was there with some of the best BCC strands that I ever wish I could have. I was surprised he didn't have more of his older Brazilian stock that is listed as available on his site. I go there all the time and say to myself "why can't I have animals that friggin sweet" not that my guys are bad, they're just not breathtaking like his stuff.
Incredible pets also had some beautiful Suri's on hand ranging from the lighter slightly more yellower brown to the traditonal brownish tan/ chocolate browns animsls at prices that made me weep ( under 300 for animals I see sell for twice that )
Ben Siegel had an absolutely gorgeous and clean 6' Guyanan for 475 as well as a striped PAIR for a cool grand. Get them if you can, you will be glad you did.
ASF Reptiles had an Aberant Guyana Male that was screaming to be taken home, the kind of boa you look at and he looks right back at you as if to say "I'm knda bored in here ya know..." Very nice.
Slightly off topic, Brian Sharp had this calico pied Rainbow that was out of this world.
Dennis Sargent had a Suri that was pefect too, what color ! Screaming red sides, great big saddle peaks, smooth light blotches. Another flawless animal !
I expected to see Mr Cagle there (east coast), does he not go to these?
BCI's definately dominated the boa side of things. They're beautiful but my heart almost completely belongs to BCC's. I'm glad I went to the show and plan to attend every year.
I agree that there were WAY too many BP's, even the venomous expo was selling balls. I don't mind as most young people I know who get into reptiles lately, start with them, but don't stay with them. So I'm cool with that. I was impressed by Peter Kahl showing off 1/4 of a million dollars worth of pieds. ( 30 animals )
It was great to see some Native Floridians, Alligators and Rat Snakes there, some abosultely breath taking colors on the Corns from Jeff's quality snakes, that one Okeetee was very vibrant, you have to see the pics.
This was the first time I'd ever seen any Cuban Iguanas and there were quite a few there.
First time I'd ever seen a Water Montior that big in person too, love at first sight all the way. Gotta get a bigger place, gotta get a much bigger place.
More spiders than frogs...what's up with that ? Voodoo Lounge Wicked frogs satiated that need of mine. How can you not love seeing a giant pixie.
The biggest shocker I saw was an Irian Jaya/Woma cross, not sure that's real...coulda been painted...no really...just seams to bizarre for some reason.
I know I drifted off topic, and believe me I could drift off a lot more, but I thought everyone that couldn't go, should know it was not just a BP show, not at all.
There's so much more, I could go on and on. I burned through a pack of 30 batteries for my camera at the show, if I can get a place to post the pics I think everybody will really dig them.
If you go there as an attendee to trade animals, make sure you get a permit from Florida Fish and Wildlife. They did arrest a couple "kids" who went to trade animals with vendors, and didn't have permits. FF&W also harrased the f%$k out of some very well known and respected vendors who have ALWAYS had permits. Shame on FF&W, shame on you.
Last thing, f%@king American Airlines can kiss my strip searched ass to kingdom f&%king come. I will never fly to the show ever again. From now on I'll car pool it or drive solo from Dallas. Those anti reptile bastards deserve every bit of hate and failure that they can possibly have.
