Salmons are a term Rich Isle coined for his hypo boas, it cought on and now they are used interchangably salmon/hypo = same thing.

Pastels are "normal" boas for the most part. Jeff Ronne coined the term for selectively bred boas that have reduced black. It's a very grey area as there are a few proven genetic strains, but many people just call a good looking boa a pastel. That is the very simple version.

I hope that clears the fog some.
