Your frogs hiding often could have to do with lighting, humidity, temp and other things. I found that my frogs were very shy during less humidity; when I switched them into their new vivarium (they were in a simple bromeliad, hider, sphagnum moss bottom 20 gallon) they became active and began breeding the day I put them in. Alter their diet by collecting(pesticide free) termites, ants, culturing flour beetle larvae, D. heide and melanogaster, springtails, isopods. Also dust with dendrocare.
