I have a heat gun (Raytech minitemp) and I love it. Best part is you can measure temp anywhere in the cage any time you want. As for measuring humidity, I have to admit I don't have anything to do that. I always just keep a large water dish along with a damp hide box and they are doing fine. Also, keep gthe cage ventilation to a minimum, that will keep the humidity in.
