...Some people do keep them with the entire cage in the mid 70s. You just have to be careful that with seasonal changes the room temperature does not go too far in either direction away from the mid 70s. Many of my BRBs are over 6 feet. Growth to over 6 feet is especially common with the females. A very few females will eventually grow a little past 7 feet. Some males exceed 6 feet in length. A 40 gallon breeder size tank will be just large enough for most adult BRBs. The occasional one that exceeds 7 feet would need a larger cage. If you use a tank style cage with screen top too much of the humidity will escape through the screen. Most people solve this problem by covering most of the screen with something solid to keep the humidity in the cage.
