Oregon Redspots can have blue, yellow or black bellies.

I have seen blue and black bellied individuals within the same

population. Look at Alan ST. Johns book Reptiles of the Northwest.

He has several pictures of Oregon Redspots with blue bellies from

the heart of their range in Oregon. Oregon redspots are just

as aquatic if not more so than California redsided garters.

As far as their belly coloration showing up for fish that is

really unimportant since they usually sit on the bottom of the

waterbody and ambush prey or hunt in the shallows.
