In 1996 I found one of my common snappers killed and partially eaten by another common snapper. I kept three hatchlings together for one year, gave one away, and kept the other two together until this incident. They were about the same size - 4.5 inch carapace.
The "killer" snapper was a little heavier, and was always the more aggresive of the two. However, there was no violence observed up until this point. They basked together and lived harmoniously. Just goes to show that they are unpredictable.
