I breed Dart frogs and this is exactly what I do to keep the flies in check. I usually keep a tiny piece of banana in a petri dish and it keeps the flies from scuttling about the cage. The frogs have learned to hang out near the magical dish that attracts all the flies.



you could probably keep a tiny piece of banana smeared on a plastic leaf in the cage (or some other preferably easily disposed and cleaned surface).
