I have snakes worth 20k also and I would NEVER put them on Pine shavings, Pine gives off fumes that is hard on Ball Pythons and can cause respiratory infections. Cypress mulch or Aspen is much safer , I just use newspaper or paper towels for the shoe boxes, trying to save a buck with Pine shavings will cost you alot more in health problems in the end , Pine is for rodents not Reptiles!!!
