Oh, I didn't even notice the red spot. I saw a white spot, but then my baby newt has many of them, and he changes from black with tiny white dots on him to completely black to brown with black spots. If it isn't raised, growing, and the newt appears fine, then I don't worry. It may also be a birthmark. My baby newt has two red dots in front of both his eyes that he has had from birth, and neither have grown. They are just simply markings. If anything, and you are still worried, check with a vet.
