Quite simply it is a linear tracking system. A way to imply significance,or show the relationship of directly decended offspring to an original pairing. To use the system with hypos that are not directly related is redundant at this point,it is much more important to understand the true genetic status of the parents, and accurately represent the implied potential genetic status of the subsequent offspring using our knowledge of how the trait is transmitted, and expressed.(using simple Mendellian genetic theory.) Filial tracking is often used in rare,or endangered,or locality specific animals as a way to convey a degree of purity of that particular species/subspecies/race,or locality. | ||
