I don't know why that didn't work, but here's what I typed:
Where did the maroon platyrhinos come from? You're the first person I've seen that mentioned that color variety.
I found two DOR patternless, maroon adults in Waller county, TX (red sand area). The two I saw were neat looking, with salmon bellies.
Waller county isn't a popular herping destination, but it seems that those praries are pretty good for platyrhinos. I'd be willing to bet that some focused surveys would still turn up a few nasicus locales.
