i just went to home depot and bought another unknown species.its a lot larger than what i needed but i bought it because it had a cluster of about 6 pups that are the right size for where i want them.this plant was planted in dirt but like the other one i was talking about,id like to mount these on the back wall(at least some of them)now my question is,how do i transplant these pups?with a slight tug,they come free and i wrapped the base with wet spagnum moss that i had soaked in soil.then i wedged these in the cork background where i want them.i then packed the spaces around with more potting soil and covered with live moss.will these take and did i do it right?this species is a cool looking species and almost looks like an airplant with wider leaves,except for the fact that the mother plant did indeed have roots in the pot.it has red/maroon leaves that are long and come to a point and kinda curl up a bit at the edges but theres no flower.is anyone able to id this brom based on the maroon leaves? my only other brom and every other one i have seen always have green leaves and have a flower.will this maroon leaved type produce flowers??thanks again and now,if all my new plants take(vietnam ferns,ponytail palm,creaping fig,3 types of live moss,various unknown tropicals and my new bromelids)all ill need will be my airplants and ill be done.oh by the way,you guys seem to know alot about plants,let me just ask one more question.i planted an unknown species of ground cover.it had little green leaves with white blotches or lines on them.anyway,it grows by hugging real close to the ground and shoots out stems covered in small leaves.anyway,i planted three of these about a week ago and they seemed great.it started as one plant and i actually broke up the root and made three small ones out of it.anyway,like i said a week and everything looked great and then yesterday,leaves began falling off.they werent turning brown or yellow,they were just falling off looking healthy.now ,one day later,there is not a single leave left on the plants,on any of them.they must have shed over 100 leaves in one day and theres not a single leave left.if it was underwatering or overwatering,the leaves wilt or shrivel,these look healthy.if it was transplant shock,i read that they leaves also wilt.anyone experience this and do you think the leaves will grow back?? the stems are all thats left and they are still green but no new leave buds.should i leave the stems and hope the leaves grow back?just curious because i need a ground hugging plant ot fill in some areas and i really like this type.wish i knew what it was.anyway,i know this is asking a lot so if you can just answer my brom pup transplanting question and maybe some idea what happened to this plant,id really appreciate it.i may be able to id the maroon brom online somewhere.
