Yup, sounds like your tokay feels comfortable and content enough to get started with some healthy, natural behaviour! Even if his previous enclosure was adequate or above-adequate, the more spacious and naturalistic the gecko's home is, the more inclined he'll be to act naturally. Like the other person who replied said (sorry, I don't remember your screen name), he's probably also establishing his new "territory."
