While a vet should be consulted, if you have an experienced tortoise keeper near you to walk you through it you can go that route also. Proper dosing is important but the last time I looked it is not a trade secret.

Another note is that a negative fecal is not a given that the animal is clean. If you know the animal is WC or has been kept at any kind of dealer for any length of time I would highly recomend the use of Flagyl and Panacure to get the critter established. The animal needs to be in relative good health before any meds are administered and an experienced keeper or a vet can help you there. It's not a good idea to do this on your own if you do not have an idea of what is involved.
