At least one of the people who wrote the care sheet on caudata culture provided above has kept a colony of A. pholeter for at least 10 years.



Other than A. pholter, Amphiumas tend to be common within thier range. Where they reach the ends of thier range they are rare but in the core sections they are quite common.
