People do put firebellies into fish tanks (often at the mistaken advice of pet shops), but they rarely live long. The problem is that a sustained high temperature (over 72F) isn't good for them. Also, they do like some places to climb out of the water. Also, fish will sometimes harrass them or eat their food. Overall, not a great arrangement for long-term health the newts.

>>is there a salamander or newt that can live in a fish tank? meaning no dry land or do all require it? is it always necessary? i believe i saw in a friends parents fish tank two random firbellies i think? something not too rare but common would be nice. thanks
