The grey area could be a burn, or some built up layers of old unshed skin. A pic would really help. As chams get older they don't always shed everyplace at the same time. Places that are less flexible (like the casque, top of the face, or along the spine) can retain sheds. If the black spots are tiny, about the size of a skin scale they may be old scabs from something or natural pigmented spots. If they are larger, more like patches, there may be a skin fungal or bacterial infection.
