One would start floating.. that sounds like a clue there.
With this spreading quickly my guess would be there may be some sort of bacterial disease happening.
Your best bet would be to get them to a reptile veterinarian & have some tests run. Separate any that seem healthy from others just in case they aren't infected with anything yet.

Really though without getting some definitive answers through testing there isn't really any way to know what's going on.
Good luck with them, I hope you don't lose any more.
