So far, I have a 3 year old boa, an ackie, and now a new argusXflavi cross. I have also kept a savanna but a friend of mine wanted him so i sold him to get the ackie. I have also kept a large boa a few years ago. So i guess im what you would call some-what experienced??? But as most of you already know, you will never stop learning with the monitors!

Well the new cross is very small, he is about 6 weeks old. I have some questions that I want to ask and most of it I am just wondering if it is normal stuff for an argus cross.. So here it goes.

1. He is active and seeming happy and will chase down crickets for hours, but he doesn’t always catch them which I know is normal ha... but when he does, sometimes he kills them and then he ignores them after they are dead... if they are not moving he doesn’t give a crap about them..... is that normal???

2. Well his size, for his age.. Is this a normal size???

3. He is a little clumsy and will climb on the screen that I put on the side of the cage and kind jump/fall off ha.. Not high of course. Is that normal in a young one?

4. He doesn’t really like to climb so far.. My ackie will climb up the ‘stack’ all day long and bask, but the argus kinda just sits on the ground havnt seen him use the stack at all yet... that normal.. Im sure he’ll figure it out sooner or later, but just thought that young ones liked to climb ha.

5.he will be chasing a cricket and then just kinda chill and then close his eyes and sleep, at least looks like sleeping ha... maybe just basking.. Normal?

Well sorry I know these are all stupid questions and could be found out with time, but just figured id ask and see if anyone who has ever had a young argus or cross knows any of this or has seen the same things. If ya think their stupid questions then a guess ignore them, but if ya know any of this stuff then... give me your input.. If ya can, thanks to any who reply. Thank it easy.
