I have a male and a female WC Pale milk snakes. I've had them for 5 months, both doing fine eating steady in a rack set up, with the temp. in the back of the rack at 82 degrees. Two weeks ago the male has started nose rubbing his walls non stop. To the point where his rostral scale is swollen and sore looking. I have started putting neosporin on the scale.
Any ideas on why the rubbing would start now? Parasites? The heat has not changed in 5 months. I have considered burmating him early as they come from Montana and we have had snow already, so maybe getting restless for the big sleep. Oh and the cage is clean, always, first thing I do in the morning.
And I did do an archive search on nose rubbing but did'nt find to much in the way of help.
Thanks for your time.
