In my opinion, sliding glass doors aren't very good. I have them on one of my cages. They are very expensive, don't have a very good seal, and are very heavy and awkward. I would go with one of those windows you can get at any lowes or home depot, where it's like sliding glass as both sides of the windown open, but they way they are build they are much more rigid and locked into the frames. From what my glass cost, they are also much cheaper. My glass isn't tempered either, that was a conciderable amount more than tempered. They are also very air tight, so heat isn't lost as quickly and as uncontrolably. You would just put adjustable vents on the sides and adjust air flow from there. Doors that swing open are also an option. You could build a frame for the glass, or just use plexi and it would also be more rigid and sealed than sliding. You can go with whatever suits your particular situation, buy I won't go with sliding glass again. Good luck.
