The first time i saw my mangrove eat it seemed to constrict the mouse and envenomate it at the same time. Then last night i was reading a book that said that venomous arboreals hold on to the prey while envenomating...dont know why i never thought of this before...seems logical....so it got me wondering if the constriction has the same effect on the prey as non venomous constrictors...i have no idea how hard the snake was squeezing the mouse..but i have no doubt its strong enough to kill the mouse with constriction only...
