Posted by: Carmichael at Tue Oct 11 08:25:32 2005 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Carmichael ] Many breeders just adhere to a rodent-only diet (rats), however, I like to give my indigos lots of variety in their diet. For our adults, rats consist of the primary food source, however, we mix in the following on a regular basis: mice (even for large adults), small rats, quail of various sizes, young rabbits (size of a small/medium rat), freshwater shrimp, catfish chunks, etc......they love variety and I look at this as a form of enrichment of captive indigos who, by nature, like to explore and prey on a wide variety of prey items. Hope this helps. [ Hide Replies ]
