He must have had a mild case of stomitus one year that went unnoticed when I put him in hibernation. About mid way through hibernation I noticed his lower jaw was quite swollen so I pulled him out and it was too late. It already went into the lower jaw bone so I had to euthanize him. He supposedly was caught as a young adult by a proffessor at some northwest university and then was given to a woman by the name of Julie Layton Couch. She was one of the first to people to offer cb chucks on a regular basis. That was back in the early 90's. He then went to Richard Montanucci for a couple weeks then I got him along with his mate. THey were the first pair I ever bred. I had hatched eggs previously from wildcaught females. He was a real bruiser. I think he was about 10-12 years old when he died. He had a lot more life yet. It is sad that we(I) screw up like this with these great animals. | ||
