I'm know this is a huge hit and miss thing. The presentation I give (that Joe mentioned)is based on a single trip that was one overnight trip which spanned one and a half days. We saw 14 or 15 Timbers and 5 Pinesnakes among many other herps and critters. 5 of the timbers we found were in a 20 foot square area. The time of year was August. I don't ever expect to duplicate that trip anywhere in my life time.

btw, it was also written up in Reptiles last year.

>>Finding timbers in the pines will be quite a challenge as a local south jerseyian I've never seen one. There out there but in small numbers. Lebanon state park is a nice place for herping, along with Wharton State Forest and Double Trouble State Park. Good Luck finding one though. Also watch out for the hitler youth(conservation officers) if they see you with anything but a camera they will give you a hard time and rightly so, too much poaching go on out there anyway. Good luck
