i've been doing a lot of herping, even though the temperature is getting colder....any ideas on how to find some snakes (I live in MD)

the past 2 times i've caught a garter and ringneck. I was hoping to find a different type of snake next time.

The question is how do you attract the snakes......I was thinking i could gather some good logs and put them in one location.

ANy one know any special tricks to catching snakes in wooded/ partially rocky terrain where its around 60-70 degress (MD)


ANY help would be great

i'm really hoping to find a rat snake or other colubrid by the end of this year
