For those of you not familar with this line of anacondas produced by Kelly Haller and Jud McClanahan, these snakes are genetically docile. Words alone really can't describe them. Last year I got a baby male green anaconda from Jud and of my 42 constrictors he is my favorite by far. The only one of my snakes that I can just reach in the cage and pick up by hand with no use of a hook what so ever. Even in full blue. This snake has never shown the slightest sign of aggresion-not even a hiss let alone a bump or strike. He displays a love to be handled and human interaction. He coils very gently on your arms, is not flighty, and loves to have his head rubbed. My green anaconda eats steadily on F/T rats and never refuses a meal. He does not exhibit the feeding response of a burm or retic. All of his littermates display the same tame behavior.
It is ironic that when a person comes to visit who wants to learn about snakes, the first one they handle is a green anaconda. I have had him at shows in crowds with many people handling him with no problem. If you are a serious herper and have the chance to get one of these wonderful anacondas, you owe it to yourself Please email me if you have any questions. Bill. ----- ...three years ago it was just another snake cult...
