I'm scheduling a vet appointment for fat sam tomorrow (most likely), but I wanted to know if anyone else had anything like this happen. Basically, my uromastyx that I rescued on 12-23-03 has scars where a heat lamp fell on her when she was under the care of her neglectful past owner. I've noticed recently that the scars (which are white patches) have gotten bigger, and there are other spots coming up on her that weren't white before...unless somehow I didn't notice them. I wouldn't think they are thermal burns, because though I use a hot hot spot, it is heated pretty evenly, and I would think I would see some sort of wound before it immediately turned into scar tissue.



It kind of seems like the whitness is covering areas that were once more of a charred black color. It's been over 2 years since she was burned (we suspect), so I don't know why the scar would be changing now. Maybe I'm just going insane, but I'm going to take her into the vet just to make sure.



Here's a pic of Fat Sam a couple days after I rescued her. She's still fat, and she's still got the burn scars. She is a great lizard though. She's got the most character out of my lizards.
