a 40gal Breeder tank is the MINIMUM size reccomended for an adult bearded dragon. Bigger is better. And yes, a smaller tank for a smaller dragon is better. The reason being is that the little dragon may get lost in a bigger tank. he could possibly not find his food, or his basking spot. good luck.
