I live in Portland, and Multnomah County has stricter laws than the state. I actually bought it right out of a pet shop here, it was listed as a tiger rat snake. When I saw it I knew it wasn't a Tiger but I couldn't place it, mostly because I had never seen the black and white phase Mangrove, but after a few minutes I figured it out, and the guy gave it to me for $50.00 with food and a cage. It's a cool snake, not overly aggressive although it bit my snake stick the other day and held on. He always wraps around his water bowl so when I change his water and go to put the bowl back he's always in the way. I had the bowl in one hand and was trying to scoot him over a little when he just lost it and tried to kill the snake stick. Usually I use my hands but had a wierd feeling, good thing I guess.
