Size of the snake, pattern and color varients all need to be considered. But with $1k, and interest in morphs, why not get a pair of DH Snow. Prices for a pair of DH Colombian Kahl Strain Snows are $1000-$1500. This way you could produce albinos, anerys, and snows. All which you mentioned an interest, and as a hobby project this will have a lot of cool results!
