I live in Central Illinois, so I do have to bring them inside. This is the longest they've ever stayed out. I put them out the first week of May this year, and brought them in last week or the week before. They both enjoyed a large plate of greens and carrots. When its sunny, I can still find lots of blooming dandelions too. They love those treats.
So yea, they handle the change very well...a lot better than I'd imagine them too. Even the female I got last year does not seem to be bothered at all by the restriction of the cage. She goes from a 9' X 9' pen into a 55 gallon tank and doesn't seem to mind at all. I don't get it. They free range of food out there, so it's not really like the eat better inside. Maybe they just like knowing it's going to be warm every morning with no rain :O)
