another thing to consider is at what age you get the animal. i have helga and hugo, both malis, both sweet to me but helga is afraid of everything and was gotten as an adult (and not well taken care of in the pet store). hugo, on the other hand, was pretty much a baby, he is such a sweetheart, climbs out of the cage on my arm, lets anyone hold him and do anything to him.

some people swear that a properly socialized egyptian can be like a dog but i can't imagine that would be easy if you got an incorrectly socialized adult. i have been whipped by an adult egyptian in a pet store and it wasn't pleasant. thank god xoco has to get used to me while he is a baby, but i have never noticed him thrashing his tail at me.

stew is still new but he is slowly coming around. i read on one website that harwickiis can be very social so i will see if i can spoil him into friendliness. right now he just "tolerates" me
