Black Tail breeding help......

I placed my female in with my male after shedding and he seems somewhat intrigued by her. She doesn't want to have anything to do with him. I think she is uncomfortable in her surroundings and a big male chasing her. Do I leave them in there together? I don't want him to eat her but I need to go to work. How many breeders leave them in the cage together unattended?.....Thanks in advance.
