I would say the majority of people I know tend to overfeed their animals which is a good way to shorten animals lives. An adult 6' boa is not growing all that quickly and does not have the need of a much younger boa. Be patient and wait until your animal fully excretes her last meal and whatever length of time it takes is what it takes. It typically takes 7-10 days from ingestion to excretion and believe me, the animal will not starve between meals. I used to be a frequent feeder until I lost our favorite boa ever due to impaction. I wanted her to be of breeding size so was getting her ready and didn't realize in time that what was going in wasn't coming out. It's been over two years and I still miss her. At least I learned never to make that mistake again and I urge you to do the same. It's much less stress on your animals to underfeed than to overfeed. | ||
