Good luck on all of your projects. But I must say something about your attempt at breeding your Het t nic to that colombian female.
This is just my opinion, but I had to say something. What are your plans for the babies resulting from that breeding, assuming he does not get squashed/killed by her? Are you going to be selling any of them? Do you think there is going to be a market for 50% het t positive mutts? (no negative connotation implied) If you are going to keep them all for your own breeding then I digress, but if you sell them to people how will they be sold and for how much? If you sell them high at market value I can only assume that you won't sell many (merely because 50% hets for anything, let alone nicXcolombian crosses just don't have value deemed by the market). If you sell them low then I can conversely assume that you will sell as many as you want to. (because there are many people who are interested at long shots with minimum investment)
This is where the problem arises, In my opinion. If you get to th point where you want to unload them cheaply, how long do you think they will be properly represented? Is it possible that after several years people may possess one of these offspring or the offspring of these offspring and call them just colombians or nicaraguans? With the 50% het thing going on it may be possible for someone a ways down the line to produce what they might think is a "new" T-positive line of colombiansor Nicaraguans (since as time goes on people may not remember or know about your breeding that started this line of mutts)
Just like any other cross the animals that are distinguishable (carry the visual genetic trait) are the ones sought after, and that I understand. But, the "normals" tend to be sold off either misrepresented or not represented as anything specifically, especially those that are 50% hets for anything. For example even in breeding common het colombians to common colombians many of the normals that may be 50% or even 66% het for whatever are sold to individuals and pet stores as normal boa constrictors.
I guess I have said enough.
