These are what I grew up with (and grew to love) as Common Boas or Colombian redtails.. They are big healthy snakes, have good manners and will breed if they are taken care of..

.

You can go to a lot of shows and not see many of (what I consider) a real nice Colombian Boa.. The traits that combine to make a strong-patterned, colourful and contrasted boa like those above have in many cases been bred out in the pursuit of the ever more pale or patternless snake.. or replaced with some dominant trait like the Salmons, which produce litters endlessly more alike. On the other hand, it is likely that standout Morphs, like the Sharp albinos probably started with very pretty, and patterned snakes.. not just any boa that would mature early and have a lot of babies.

.

I have real interest in some of the new MORPHs like the leopard boas, So-called Aztec boas and others with heavy pattern and pigment.. Who knows.. something like these original nice boa will pop out by accident when they are bred back to all the pale and washed-out lines!!!

.

Yes! I'm making a little fun (in a friendly way) of all the labels placed on Boas! I hope no one is seriously offended.

.

Be safe!
