that's not entirely true...I have seen it happen with snakes that have been housed together that were the same size. I've never seen it with a Boa but I have seen it with baby Ball Pythons. Both individuals were the same length, girth, and fed well but one still ate the other for some reason.

It is definitely not a pretty sight. Not to mention, sometimes the one that ate the other will die because of the oversized meal. I wouldn't say that it is a common occurance but whenever you house two animals together, no matter the size, type, etc. you always run the risk of one eating the other. It might be a minimal risk, but it is definitely there.
