It's promoting the idea that the lizards (in this case the eastern beardie) are capable of carrying components of the proteins that go into the overall makeup of rattlesnake venom - NOT that it carries the exact SAME venom. Venomous snakes are not limited to their venom being just this or that (hemotoxic, neurotoxic, etc.), but rather venoms are a cocktail mixture of a bunch of proteins - different mixtures do different things. It just happens that one of the primary ingredients in rattlesnake venom was isolated in the eastern beardie. Heck any animal with saliva can be deemed venomous - it is a combination of proteins used to break down something. Humans are quite venomous if you think about it.  ----- _____
