Talk to your bank when you get the MO. If the buyer offers you a lot of extra money to cover shipping etc, you know to stay away.
I had a check come in recently. My bank knows me well and we went through things as usuall, it even cleared. However, a week after clearing I was called that it was fake. I was suspicious so I left the money untouched for (what would have been) the recommended 30 days. By bank said they would check things out for me ahead of time from know on. Nothing bad happened, the money was obviously removed from my account by the bank though.
