I have a male that was darker than most normals when I got him. Then one day he got loose and no amount of looking could turn him up. After about 6 months we did manage to find him, perfectly healthy and looking like a new snake. He had faded so much during the 6 months that my parents thought I had bought a new snake when I showed them. He has been back for about a month now and has shed again and gotten lighter again. I have heard many stories and seen many pictures of similar cases over the years and the degree of change and continuation of change is always different. Who knows, one day my male or the one you have might be solid black and white!
