I live in Maryland and though they have strict rules against venomous snakes they don't consider many harmless rear fanged snakes to be venomous. It's a grey area, in most states. If you live in the U.S. you should contact your state's DNR, Department of natural resources, and ask them about the specific species your interested in. If they say it's okay ask them to mail you a letter verifying that. Animal control officers are often very ignorant, so you want to have something to back you up should be confronted by one. | ||
