thanks for the compliment. i usually check them over every other day, just to be sure. and i spot check/clean the cage once a day. i've been dealing with herps of one type or another for 25 years, but it was always local species. now that i'm starting to get a little experince with pythons/etc i can't get enough. it's just one of those things where i really love the animals, and any shortcomings in it's health is my direct responsibility. i might be a n00b as far as python knowledge and all that, but i'm definately not when it comes to attending to captive snakes health and i'd never seen anything like those spots before.



a couple people i talked to said that it might be from the way that she was shipped. she was on a 40 hour heat pack and the only thing that was seperating her from being in direct contact with that heat pack was the pillowcase that she was in. when i temp gunned the heat pack right when she arrived, it showed somewhere around the 115-120 range (farenheit). that is the most likely culprit. either way,i'm not taking any chances. her temps are COMPLETELY accurate at 90 degrees on hot side and ambient temps in the room/cool side are 79 degrees. she'll be getting some neosporin just in case there is any form of infection there. my vet has an opening in two days, so that's the soonest i can do anything else. (if it worsens, i'll call my vet and i'm sure she'll have me in asap)
