>>I have a 2 year old male Poss. Super Salmon DH Sunglow, an awsome 4 year old 6ft Pastel female, a huge 7 1/2 ft very thick normal, and a 3 year old 5 ft Super Salmon 66% het. All have been cooled and housed seperate. And are ready for breeding. They were all cooled at the same time for 3 weeks then the temp was brought back up to normal temps. I have been told that it is very easy to breed 1 male to multiple females but I might be having some troubles.

>>

>>Whenever I put the male in with a female he is all over her for a day then he is won't make any more "moves" until I put him in with a different female 5 days later. This is my first year actually trying to breed boas so I might just be a little immpatiant.

>>

>>How long would you suggest a male to be left with a female before moving him on? Also, he is in the middle of going blue (shedding) Does that have anything to do with it? How long is a male usually in breeding mode?

>>

>>Sorry for all the questions I just have a bit invested in them and would like to see some babies.

>>

>>Thank you,

>>The Milk Man

In my opinion, you're chancing it with your 5' poss super salmon female.. I know she is 3yrs old, but 5' is too small.. You should hold her back until next year and she'll throw a nice healthy litter for you.. As far as your male, I've had males that WILL breed while in shed but I believe the majority give it a break until they are shiny and new again.. Another thing, you should stop playing "musical boas" and leave your male in with one female.. I've heard of "boa orgy" procedures but that is usually someone with a bunch of normals that doesn't mind if 1 or 2 don't take.. You have investment animals and you are better off getting one done at a time and "knowing" the job was done right.. Pulling your male after 5 days is ludacris, boas court for MONTHS sometimes.. You need to be PATIENT, if your animals are mature and ready you shouldn't have a problem.. Leave your male in with ONE female until he gets the job done and then once you see POS, put him with the next.. It is KEY to make SURE your male is DONE before you move him to the next female, pull him too early and you'll have a cage full of pills in a few months. The ONLY thing YOU can control is what animals you stick together, the rest is up to them.. Keep clean water supplied, shave your head and sit patiently.. The shaven head is so you don't have any hair to pull out while you're waiting for a litter to drop.. Breeding boas isn't soo hard, they do all the work when you put them together.. Take care
