Thanks for posting such interesting articles. I think I should state the obvious when I say that Wisonsin woman who owns the cobra and other venomous snakes should be emprisoned for putting the childrens lives in danger, forced to repay her medical expenses, and forced to allow unscheduled spotchecks to make sure she never owns any animal again. She represents the people who are not only a menace to the herp culture, but are a menace to society.
With that said, I kinda of feel for that vet tech and her monkey. That just goes to show that even experienced and educated people can get in over their heads. In the opinion of another tech and long time herper, I think all exotic owners should try to keep the mind set of a zoo keeper. It is indeed what they have after all, none other than a zoo animal. Food, shelter and cleanliness are important, but justly so is security.

I do have a question that maybe some of you may know the answer. Being Canadian (from Alberta yet), I'm quite unfamiliar from American leg'. It sounds like from the articles posted that many states, WI specifically, you can have whatever and whichever animal under the sun that you choose? Is there any legislation at all or are the people making it just completely unfamiliar with animals in general?
Ian
