It is a better idea to introduce the female into the males cage as males are territorial and may not like the fact that they are in a new environment... It might also be a good idea to hold the female within eye sight of the male to see if she is receptive before placing her in the cage.

Good Luck and let us know how it turns out. Remember its a good idea not to leave them totally unsupervised
