Darwin! I have a 4' strip light and an 18" on Darwin's tank. I went to turn off the short one and it fell in! He didn't budge! :-o lol!! Unlike the time I dropped a log on his head - uh, first time I ever saw his beard (or see him move fast!). The light didn't fall on his head, it was on the other end of the tank - whew!

Last week I went to pick up his silkie order at the feed store (they take my live packages for me) and I brought him with me. it was a bit cool out (Dec. in NH) but he had just had a long bask and I got the car all heated up for him. So we went to get them, then went to the bank and the P.O. All the time he was happy on my chest and under my jacket when we went inside. On the way home I put him higher on my shoulder so he could see better (lol!) and all of a sudden he ran down my front, my leg, onto the floor and headed up under the dash! Fortunately, I was going slow and was able to pull over w/o crushing him under a pedal! I have NEVER seen him move that fast! The only thing I can think of that may have spooked him was that we were approaching an underpass and he may have seen a truck on the highway above (I live in a rural area so he hadn't seen much traffic!) and thought it was a pteradactyl coming to swoop down and grab him! :-o. Whew! Guess I shouldn't take his docileness (is that a word?) for granted....but then again, a 1 1/2 foot light fell into his tank.....
