Some are crossed with the CA hypo, so should retain a smaller size than Columbian crosses. They are some of the most beautiful hypos produced and most don't brown out like normal hypos tend to do in adult hood. But, if you want to keep pure bloodline, this is not the way to do it. If you want to create amazing colored hypos, than this is the way to do it.
And no, a $200 Hog and $500 hypo do not make a $5k Sunset Hypo. They can make $100-$200 normals and $400-$700 HypoXHogs (which is an average price for a good colored hypo), or if a Sunset or Sunset cross is used, you could get up to $1500 for the Sunset crosses (hypos) produced. These are more because the years of breeding by D&M to produce these clean babies. Now, I will admit $5k for a hypo, regardless how nice is high. But, they are beautiful, and they will sell for what the market will bear.
Hope this helps. -----
