Nope, 50% poss. supers comes from breeding a proven super salmon to a normal salmon. The results of this breeding are 50% supers and 50% non super hypos.
Think of it this way. Hypo is just het for super hypo. Compare this to a normal recessive gene like albinism. Super hypo x normal hypo is the same as albino x het albino. The only difference is you can tell which are albinos and which are hets. With the hypos, you can't tell which are super hypos and which are not, so you sell them as 50% poss. supers.
